An unpleasant evening is coming to a close. Several consecutive late nights helping with server migrations for my old company has exhausted me and left me with a "migration" headache, a fever, and a sore throat. What's more, the sore throat developed in to gradually-increasing ear pain this evening, so I did what a rational and reasonably unstubborn person (in other words, not my former self) would do: I went to see a doctor. The diagnosis was horrible. I am the victim of pharyngitis. In other words, I officially have a sore throat. Good thing the doctor told me.

Actually, she was a rather cute PA, but unfortunately, brains do not function well at 101 degrees. In fact, the Department of Metaphors and Platitudes had already shut down, and a couple Advil PM tablets are making their rounds for lights out. I am therefore leaving this post open to be constructed by reader comments. I am truly curious to gather a range of informed insight from visitors. A quid pro quo, if you will. In fact, I'll leave a brief summary of my thoughts in the comments to get us kicked off...
